The Pyre is an inventory management, gladiatorial style experience designed to be highly competitive.

Players collect items, purchase Renown Upgrades, and unlock Perks to directly increase their strength, creating an unequal power system highly dependent on playtime. Players are encouraged to create alliances and utilize trading to further increase their chances of survival.

Upon first joining The Pyre, players arrive in the spawn area, which has Shop NPCs, and serves as the main hub. The objective at first is to obtain as much XP and Gold as possible, through kills, kill assists, events, and achievements.

When players collect enough XP, their level automatically increases. Once a player reaches level 111, they can Prestige at the Prestige Pyre for Renown, a limited currency used to purchase Renown Upgrades. Prestiging resets the player’s level back to 0, allowing them to continue earning XP. No game features are locked behind a level requirement, serving more as a prestige progress indicator.

Gold has more direct impact for the player, serving as a currency for acquiring non-permanent gear from the Item Vendor and as a resource for enchanting Mythics at the Mythic Anvil.

Mythics are items that players will collect throughout their experience, vastly increasing their strength. Unenchanted Blank Mythics are obtained as a random reward upon killing enemies, which can be increased with the Tiered Achievement Gambling Addict. Mythics can be enchanted up to 3 times using Gold and a Mythic Gem(for Tier 3) at the Mythic Anvil. Doing so blesses the Mythic with up to 3 random enchants, with 3 tiers of strength.

Perks are also an important tool for players, allowing players to gain powerful buffs for any style of gameplay. New perks can be unlocked through completing specific requirements, and have no additional cost to equip once unlocked. Players can also increase their maximum perks through the renown shop.

The Pyre’s map is large, but has only one entrance from the hub, the center pit. This causes the center of the map to be an extremely hostile environment. Players receive slightly increased kill rewards the further away from the center they get, but will find less opponents to fight.

Player Starting Gear:

  1. Iron sword - Default iron sword
  2. Bow/Arrows - Default Bow + 16 arrows
  3. Armor - All players spawn with chain armor. Players can upgrade their armor by getting kills.

10 kills - Iron boots, 25 kills - Iron Leggings, 50 kills - Iron chestplate

100 kills - Iron helmet
